Enkhuizen, North Holland, the Netherlands, April 2022

Enkhuizen is a city and municipality in the West-Friesland region, in the province of North Holland. The municipality is located on both the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer. Enkhuizen is known as the 'Herring City' because of its past as a center for the herring fishing industry. The city is an important tourist center, partly because of the extensive and well-preserved historic city center and the Zuiderzee Museum. In addition, the town has internationally renowned seed companies and horticulture, as well as a cluster of plastics industry.
